Frequently Asked Questions
What is Advice-Only?
As an Advice-Only planner, I focus 100% on what truly matters—your life aspirations. No sales, no commissions, no asset management—just honest, independent financial advice that’s always in your best interest.
How do you help clients with their investments if you don't manage their money?
Most people don’t need someone to manage their money—they need solid, straightforward investment advice they can implement themselves. I help clients consolidate their accounts, quantify their tolerance for investment risk, and provide clear, account-by-account investment recommendations.
Who benefits most from your services? Who are your typical clients?
I provide advice-only financial planning services to individuals at all stages of life and varying asset levels.
My clients are action-oriented, self-motivated, disciplined & curious. They seek professional objective advice for a fee & are comfortable self-implementing a well-thought-out action plan. I have worked with hundreds of clients, across all age ranges and levels of assets.
I strive to provide exceptional value to clients planning for major life transitions, including around retirement, career, children, health & inheritances.
How do you help clients implement financial plan recommendations
I create a clear action plan outlining the steps you need to take to achieve your goals. I’ll also connect you with trusted independent professionals when needed, answer any questions that come up, and provide ongoing guidance as you work through your plan.
What are your fees and how do you help clients stay on track?
For new clients, I begin most engagements with a comprehensive financial plan, billed as a one-time flat fee based on the complexity of your situation. Afterward, I offer ongoing support, usually billed at a flat monthly rate tailored to your needs. I’ll provide a personalized quote after an exploratory meeting to better understand your financial situation and goals.
How Much Savings Can I Realize from Hiring a Fee-Only Financial Planner to Assist me with Self-Directed Portfolio Management?
An investment advisory fee of 1% of assets under management may seem modest at first glance. However, when compounded over time, even a “small” fee can significantly reduce your overall returns.
